shani gailbreath

shani Gailbreath hair + Makeup

Shani (pronounced Shay-nee) is a hair and makeup creative director and entrepreneur known for creating looks that feel effortless, editorial, and entirely her clients' own. With 15+ years of experience spanning red carpets, magazines, and wedding weekends, her work has been featured in Vogue, Glamour, and Over The Moon. Shani acts as beauty creative director—not just stylist—strategizing every look across multi-day destination weddings with some of the industry's most respected planners and design teams. She's also the founder of Canvas + Coif, a Nashville-based beauty team serving premium Southeast weddings, and The Artist Association, a global platform connecting vetted freelance beauty professionals with the tools and community they need to thrive. When she's not on-site or building brands, she's home in Nashville with her husband Jesse and their four boys—or on her family's farm in Kentucky doing chores and pretending she knows what she's doing.

For Planners + Photographers: Beauty as a Strategic Tool
Want to attract design-forward clients and elevate your portfolio? Let's talk about how beauty and fashion actually work as strategic levers—not line items. We'll cover: refining your vendor recommendations, art directing beauty on shoot days, understanding what signals editorial versus basic, and building relationships with top-tier beauty creatives. I'll tell you what's working, what's not, and how beauty and fashion are positioning you before a couple even sees your pricing.

For Beauty Pros: Repositioning for Luxury
If you're still positioning yourself as someone who "does hair and makeup," you're leaving money and authority on the table. In this session, we'll dig into what it takes to work in luxury weddings—not as a vendor, but as a creative collaborator. We'll talk about repositioning your role, pricing like an expert, building relationships with top vendors, and creating a client experience that commands $10K+ contracts. I'll give you strategy, honest feedback, and a plan to move forward.

For All Creatives: Networking That Actually Works
Networking isn't about collecting business cards at 500-person events. It's about building real relationships with 10–15 people who genuinely refer you. I've spent six plus years figuring out what works, what's a waste of money, and how to turn connections into contracts. We'll talk about how to strategize before you even arrive, what to do once you're there, and how to follow up in a way that actually leads to bookings. If you're tired of spending thousands on networking with nothing to show for it, let's fix that.
